The territory’s winemaking history dates back to the Iberian period, when the deposits of the town of Kelin were located in Caudete de Las Fuentes and the Pilillas de Requena, 3,000 years back.

Influenced by a continental Mediterranean climate, each of the different plots enjoys a specific microclimate that makes it different from the rest. The average altitude revolves around 950 meters above sea level.

Bruno and Jose Luis have searched and selected limestone foothills where prevail the altitude and the south-east orientations with poor sandy-loam and clay-loam soils, looking for freshness in the summer period.

LAND PLOTS

Las Brunas

Land of 7.69 ha on the slopes at the foot of the mountain with South-East orientation.

Plot with wide biodiversity in which 6 hectares of very old bobal vines planted with a classic glass-bearing system and cultivated in dry land, extend with 2 hectares of Mediterranean bush, holm oak, aromatic plants and Rhodes pine trees that crown the top of the hillside.

With an altitude between 850 and 950 meters above sea level, its 3 terraces and its geological wealth allows us to obtain a Bobal wine trilogy based on the texture of the soil:

CLAY-CALCAREOUS TEXTURE

“L’Alegría” comes from the main terrace that occupies the middle part of the slope.

FRANK TEXTURE WITH CALCAREUOS BASE

“Bruno’s Dream” is born from the highest terrace, a foot of limestone bush with poor soil in surface and limestone plate in depth, surrounded by pine trees and lots of thyme, rosemary and lavender.

FRANK AND SANDY TEXTURE

“La Bruna” is born from the smallest terrace, the lower part of the slope where poor soil prevails on the surface covered by a large number of boulders.

La Meca

Small farm of 1.96 hectares in a mountainous slope and facing south.

Centennial vineyard in Bobal, with a classic glass drinking system and cultivated in dry land, at an altitude of about 800 meters where loam-sandy soil predominates.

Architecture with five arms on the glass table, a system that gives the plant a certain porosity in the vegetation and favors the grape’s maturation cycle against sunburn in summer periods.

With a yield of less than 2 kilos per vine.

Currently, we are working to define our own style for this rough diamond.

La Ceja

Land of 7.13 ha of old bobal vineyard, with a classic glass-bearing system and cultivated in dry land, enjoys a south-west orientation, with poor limestone soils and a sandy-loam texture.

This mountain vineyard marks a height of 1,060 meters above sea level and it is a witness to a resounding biodiversity with aromatic presence of its climate and influence.

We enjoy a privileged and unique environment, caught between the Mediterranean forest of Rhodes pine and holm oak. The influence of the sea and the dry climate provide this area with an ideal climate, which allows it to face the ripening period with strong thermal intervals between day and night.

Currently, we are working to define a new project associated to this vineyard.

La Serratilla

Rustic farm of 22 ha, owned by the Sanchís Ruiz de Fez family and managed by Jose Luis and working with the same definition and philosophy as the family project since 2014.

Property located in a valley with a slope towards the Cabriel river with South-East orientation.

The vineyard is drawn between sandy loam soil, alluvial soil and sandy soil with limestone bottom.

Vineyard of about 25 years of average age, planted in a trellis conduction system and worked in dry land.

Property with wide biodiversity and absolute dominance of Mediterranean forest.

Currently, we are working on a new project that will define the own style of local varieties, based on old-fashioned planting styles with glass conduction systems.
